Need storage in Enfield? Container storage starts at £30 per week (inc VAT), with insurance up to £25,000 included. I run London House Removals and I have been collecting, storing and redelivering belongings across the EN postcodes since 2010.
The big self-storage names want you to rent a van, drive to their yard, and haul your own boxes. That is not how I work. My team collects from your door anywhere in Enfield, seals everything into a tagged container at our secure facility in Rainham, and brings it back when you need it. You never lift a thing. If you would rather have your own keys and visit whenever you like, I also arrange self-storage rooms through Big Yellow.

Useful guides: Storage Solutions London | How to Pack for Storage | House Removals London | Removals in Enfield
1st week of storage is FREE with any removal booking. No minimum spend. No catches. Just mention it when you book. The removal is charged normally, your first week of storage costs nothing.
What does storage cost in Enfield?
£30 per week (inc VAT) per 250 cubic foot container. That is the headline number. Insurance up to £25,000 is included in the weekly price. What is not included is collection and delivery, which are priced as a separate removal job. That keeps the storage rate honest and predictable.
How many containers you will need:
These are ballpark figures. I quote properly after a quick video survey or phone call. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes and it is free. Storage is billed in 4-week blocks. If you vacate early, refunds are calculated per full week remaining.
What is included: sealed container storage at our secure facility in Rainham (RM13), and insurance up to £25,000.
What is not included: collection and delivery from your Enfield address (priced as a removal job), packing service if you want us to pack for you, container inspection at £30 (inc VAT), and assisted access at £24 (inc VAT) per hour per person if you ever need to go through your things.
Container storage vs self-storage
There are two ways to store with me. One is hands-off, the other gives you your own keys. The right choice depends on whether you want regular access or set-and-forget security.
If you want to visit your things regularly, self-storage is the better fit. If you want them stored safely and brought back when you are ready, container storage is simpler and usually cheaper once you add up van hire, fuel, and your own time. Either way, your first week is FREE when you book a removal with me.
Self-storage with us comes in two levels:
– Hands-off (we manage it): I arrange the room, move your items in, and hold the keys. You tell me when you want things collected or delivered. If you need to inspect items, I send a mover to accompany you. That is £24 (inc VAT) per hour with a 2-hour minimum, and 8 days notice.
– Hands-on (you keep the keys): We transport and load your items into the room, then hand you the keys. You visit whenever Big Yellow is open. No notice, no mover needed. The Big Yellow branch we use most often is on Advent Way in Edmonton, N18, which sits just south of Enfield and is handy for most EN postcodes.
What fits in a 250 cubic foot container
Each container is 250 cubic feet, roughly 7 cubic metres. Think of it as the size of a large garden shed. One container typically holds:
– A double bed, dismantled, with the mattress
– A three-seater sofa
– A chest of drawers and a bedside table
– 10 to 15 standard moving boxes
– A few lamps, small tables, and odd bits
For box-only storage, one container holds about 30 to 40 standard tea-chest boxes. If you are packing yourself, use double-wall boxes. Single-wall ones buckle under the weight in storage. I sell proper packing materials or can point you to where to get them. My packing service London page has the details if you would rather we did it for you.
How storage in Enfield works
Parking and access in Enfield
This is where local knowledge matters. Enfield is a mix of suburban houses with their own drives, busy town-centre streets, and the tight terraced roads around Ponders End and Enfield Highway. Collecting from an Enfield address usually means fewer parking headaches than inner London, but the town centre and railway approaches still need planning.
I cover EN1 (Enfield Highway, Bush Hill Park), EN2 (Enfield Town, Chase Side, Forty Hill), and EN3 (Ponders End, Brimsdown, Enfield Lock), plus the surrounding areas. From my base in Walthamstow I am up the A10 or A1010 and at most Enfield doors within 20 to 30 minutes.
What I know about collecting from these streets:
– Enfield is one of the easier London boroughs for removals parking. Many Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park homes have drives or unrestricted residential roads. Where you do need a bay reserved, Enfield Council handles parking suspensions. The resident applies and pays, and I tell you who to contact and what to ask for. The best place to check is the Enfield Council website. Search for “parking suspension” and you will find the application and fees.
– Enfield Town centre around Church Street and the Palace Gardens area has time-limited and permit bays. If you are above a shop or in a flat there, we plan the loading window around the restrictions.
– The older terrace streets around Ponders End and Enfield Lock can be narrow. My crew is used to tight access and brings the right equipment.
– I bring floor coverings and blankets for every collection. Hallways, stairs, and landings are all protected.
If your move has a gap between homes, my house removals London page covers the full removal side of the job, including surveys, crews, and how the day runs.
