Office removals in London - professional movers loading office furniture, desks and IT equipment into a removals truck outside a modern London office building with the city skyline in background

Moving an office in London is not like moving a house. Every hour your business is not operational costs money. Clients notice. Deadlines slip. Staff get frustrated. I have been handling office removals across London since 2010, and I know what it takes to get a business from one address to another without the wheels coming off.

Whether you are moving five desks or fifty, you need a crew that knows London’s loading bays, parking restrictions, and building management requirements. More importantly, you need a fixed price that does not change on the day. This page covers what office removals in London cost, what is included, and how the process works.

Pricing for Office Removals in London

Every quote I give is based on an in-person survey. I need to see the doorways, the lift dimensions, the parking situation, and the new premises before I give you a price. That survey is free and takes roughly 20 minutes.

The prices below are for moves within the M25 and include VAT. Loading, transport, unloading, basic dismantling, and insurance are all included. No hidden extras. And if there is a gap between offices, your first week of storage is FREE with any removal booking.

Office SizePrice (inc VAT)Crew / Time
Micro Office (1-4 desks)£300 – £600 (inc VAT)2 movers · 3-5 hrs
Small Office (5-15 desks)£600 – £1,500 (inc VAT)3-4 movers · 5-8 hrs
Medium Office (15-40 desks)£1,500 – £3,500 (inc VAT)4-6 movers · 1-2 days
Large Office (40+ desks)From £3,500 (inc VAT)Custom quote
What affects the price. Access is the single biggest factor. A ground-floor office with a loading bay is faster than a fourth-floor walk-up. Parking restrictions in central London add time. IT equipment that needs disconnecting and reconnecting also affects the total. The survey covers all of this so the quote I give you is the price you pay.

What Is Quoted Separately

Some elements of an office move are quoted as extras because they vary too much to bundle into a standard price:

Packing. Full packing service, partial (fragile-only), or materials delivered for your team to pack themselves.
IT decommissioning. If your IT team handles disconnection and reconnection of servers and network equipment, the move is faster and costs less. If I need to coordinate with them, I factor in the extra planning time.
Storage. If there is a gap between leaving one office and moving into the next, I can hold your furniture and equipment in secure container storage from £30/week (inc VAT). The first week is FREE with any removal booking.
Out-of-hours moves. Weekend and evening moves are standard practice for office relocations, and I do not charge extra for weekend work.

What Is Included in Office Removals

Every office removal includes the same standard of service that my house removal customers get:

– Full loading, transport, and unloading at both ends
– Furniture protection: blanket wraps, corner guards, and straps for every item
– Floor coverings in both properties
– Basic dismantling and reassembly of desks, shelving, and standard office furniture
– Goods in Transit insurance up to £25,000 as standard (upgradable to £50,000)
– Colour-coded labelling system so every item goes to the correct room at the new premises
– A dedicated foreman on site: one person who knows the plan and is your point of contact throughout

The goal is always the same: your team is operational at the new location before the next working day.

When Do Businesses Need Office Removals in London?

Most office moves fall into one of these situations:

Lease expiry. The most common reason. You have a deadline to be out, and the new place needs to be ready.
Downsizing. Moving to a smaller space to reduce overhead. Often from a Zone 1 location to somewhere further out.
Scaling up. Outgrowing a shared workspace or a small office. Moving into dedicated premises with meeting rooms and proper infrastructure.
Temporary relocation. Renovations, flood damage, or a lease gap. Storage bridges the time between properties.
Merging teams. Two departments or companies consolidating into one office.

Areas I Cover for Office Relocations

I cover all of London from my Walthamstow base. Office moves are different from house moves because access and parking vary enormously by location:

Central: Soho, Fitzrovia, Bloomsbury, Holborn, Covent Garden, Mayfair, Marylebone, Clerkenwell, Farringdon, Shoreditch, Old Street, London Bridge, Southwark, Waterloo
North: Islington, Camden, Kings Cross, Kentish Town, Haringey, Hampstead, Finchley, Barnet, Enfield, Walthamstow, Chingford
East: Stratford, Canary Wharf, Whitechapel, Bethnal Green, Hackney
South: Bermondsey, Borough, Clapham, Brixton, Wimbledon
West: Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush, Notting Hill, Kensington, Chelsea, Fulham, Richmond

If your office is inside the M25, I can quote for it. Call 0207 118 7778 and I will talk you through the next steps.

London-Specific Challenges for Office Moves

Office removals in London come with their own set of hurdles that a residential mover might not deal with:

Parking suspensions. Many central London offices sit in controlled parking zones. I help you through the parking process: I tell you which council to contact, when to apply, and what you need. But the application and payment go through you, because the council needs your details.
Service lifts and loading bays. Not every office building has them, and those that do have size and booking restrictions. I check these at the survey.
Congestion Charge and ULEZ. Routes are planned to account for both the Congestion Charge and ULEZ. These costs are factored into the quote, not added after the move.
Building management requirements. Some buildings need proof of insurance, a deposit, or advance notice. I handle that side so you do not have to.

How the Office Removal Process Works

Office moves follow the same process as house removals, with one difference: the survey is almost always in person because the stakes are higher.

1. Get in touch. Call 0207 118 7778 or use the quote form. Tell me the current address, the new address, the number of desks, and any specialist equipment (servers, lab equipment, meeting room tech).

2. Site survey. I come to your current premises, measure doorways and lifts, check the parking situation, and visit the new premises if I can access it. This is free and takes around 20 minutes.

3. Fixed-price quote. You get a written quote within 12-36 hours of the survey. It is a fixed price with an excess hours rate if the job runs over. No surprises. Valid for 28 days.

4. Pre-move prep. I deliver crates and colour-coded labels in advance. Your team labels their own desks and files. If you opted for packing, my crew handles that in the days before the move.

5. Moving day. The crew arrives, wraps everything, loads the truck, transports to the new premises, and unloads into the correct rooms. Furniture is reassembled. Floor coverings go down in both properties.

6. Operational Monday morning. That is the target. Whatever day the move happens, your team walks into a fully set-up office on the next working day.

FAQs About Office Removals in London

How much do office removals in London cost?+
Office removals in London typically cost between £300 and £3,500+ depending on the size. A micro office with 1-4 desks runs from £300 to £600 (inc VAT). Small offices with 5-15 desks are £600 to £1,500 (inc VAT). Medium offices with 15-40 desks range from £1,500 to £3,500 (inc VAT). For large offices with 40+ desks, I provide a custom quote. Every price is a fixed price after a free in-person survey. No surprises on the day.
Do you offer weekend or out-of-hours office moves?+
Yes. Weekend and evening moves are standard for office relocations, and I do not charge extra for weekend work. Most businesses prefer a weekend move so their team walks into a fully set-up office on Monday morning. Evening moves are also available if that suits your schedule better.
Is my office furniture insured during the move?+
Yes. Every office removal includes Goods in Transit insurance up to £25,000 as standard. This covers desks, chairs, filing cabinets, IT equipment, and any other items I transport. You can upgrade the cover to £50,000 if you need additional protection.
How far in advance should I book an office removal?+
I recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance for a standard office move. This gives time for an in-person survey, a fixed-price quote delivered within 12-36 hours of the survey, and proper planning of parking, access, and building management requirements. For larger moves or ones involving IT decommissioning, 4-6 weeks is better.
Can you handle IT equipment and servers?+
Yes. IT equipment is handled with extra care. Servers, switches, monitors, and network cables all get additional protection during transport. If your IT team handles the disconnection and reconnection, the move runs faster and costs less. If you need me to coordinate with them, I factor in the extra planning time. Either way, the survey covers what needs to happen.
Do I need a parking suspension for my office move?+
Many central London offices sit in controlled parking zones, so a parking suspension is often needed. I guide you through the process: which council to contact, when to apply, and what information you need. The application and payment go through you, because the council requires your details. I cover what to expect at the survey so there are no last-minute surprises.
What happens if there is a gap between my old and new office?+
If there is a gap between leaving one office and moving into the next, I can hold your furniture and equipment in secure container storage. Each container is individually sealed and costs from £30 per week (inc VAT). Your first week of storage is FREE with any removal booking. No minimum spend, no catches.
Do you provide packing crates before the move?+
Yes. I deliver crates, colour-coded labels, and packing materials in advance so your team can pack desks, files, and equipment before moving day. If you prefer a full packing service, my team can handle that in the days leading up to the move. I also offer a partial packing option for fragile or sensitive items only.
