Looking for removals in East London? London House Removals has been working these streets since 2010, from the Victorian terraces of Bethnal Green and Bow to the warehouse conversions of Hackney Wick and the towers around Canary Wharf. Over 10,000 moves completed, a 5.0 star Google rating with 215+ reviews, and a 0.03% insurance claim rate. That is roughly three claims in over a decade.

We are based in Walthamstow, so East London is home turf. We know the difference between moving someone out of a period conversion in Clapton and relocating a family from a Docklands tower block. Different access, different kit, different crew sizes. If you want moving companies in East London that actually know the area, call 0207 118 7778. Every job starts with a free video survey and ends with a fixed-price quote. And if you need storage during your move, the first week is FREE.

All quotes come from a proper survey. A phone call is enough for a 1-bed flat. A free video call works for most homes. I come in person for larger properties. I do not guess prices over the phone.

Storage on top

Need somewhere for your things during the move? Container storage is £30/week (inc VAT), insurance included. Collection and delivery are priced as a removal job, ask for a combined quote. First week FREE with any removal. A 1-bed flat needs 1-2 containers, a 2-bed house 2-4, a 3-bed house 4-6. We collect from your East London home, store at our facility, and redeliver when you need it.

Why choose London House Removals in East London

We work East London every week. The property types here change fast as you move from postcode to postcode, and each one brings different access challenges.

  • The Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Bethnal Green, Bow, and Mile End have narrow front doors, original features, and tight stairwells. We bring blankets, floor coverings, and the right equipment every time.
  • The warehouse conversions in Shoreditch, Hackney Wick, and Bethnal Green often have wide openings but upper-floor access without a lift. We plan the crew and the route before we start loading.
  • The new-build towers around Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs, and Stratford involve goods lifts, parking bay reservations, and building management sign-off. We confirm all of that before moving day.
  • The period conversions and ex-council flats in Clapton, Homerton, and London Fields often mix tight corridors with shared access. We check the layout at survey.
  • The family homes in Walthamstow, Leyton, and Leytonstone are our home turf. We know the streets, the schools, and the parking restrictions across Waltham Forest.

A 5.0 star rating across 215+ Google reviews. Goods in Transit insurance up to £25,000 as standard, upgradable on request. Basic furniture dismantling included. Floor coverings and blankets on every job. The person you speak to is the person who runs the company.

We also offer a full packing service if you want us to handle the boxes as well as the move. Full house or fragile-only. We deliver boxes, tape, and packing materials to your East London home.

Parking and access in East London

East London spans four boroughs: Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Waltham Forest, and Newham. Each runs its own parking suspension process, so the best place to check is your local borough council website. Search for “parking suspension” or “moving day parking” and you will find the application form and fees for your area. Every council handles it slightly differently, so go direct to the source.

A few things we know about moving in East London:

  • The terraced streets around Bethnal Green, Bow, and Mile End are mostly permit-only parking. You will need a suspension or a temporary moving bay from Tower Hamlets Council.
  • The new-build estates around Canary Wharf and Stratford usually have dedicated service bays. Book these through building management, not the council. Some require 48 hours notice.
  • The A11 (Mile End Road, Bow Road), A13 (Commercial Road), and A1206 (Aspen Way) are Red Routes managed by TfL. No stopping or loading on red lines without a permit. Check TfL’s Red Route rules if your move touches one of these roads.
  • If your move starts or ends near the City border in E1 (Whitechapel, Spitalfields), check whether you are inside the Congestion Charge zone. ULEZ covers all of Greater London, so most removals vehicles are compliant, but ask us if you are unsure.
  • We bring floor coverings for every move. Hallways, stairs, landings, all protected.

FAQs

How much do removals in East London cost?+
A 1-bed flat costs £180 to £400. A 2-bed property costs £400 to £800. A 3-bed house costs £850 to £1,250. All prices include VAT, insurance, loading, and unloading. Get a fixed-price quote after a free video survey.
Which East London postcodes do you cover?+
We cover E1 through E18 across Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Waltham Forest, and Newham. That includes Whitechapel, Bethnal Green, Bow, Clapton, Canary Wharf, Stratford, Leyton, Leytonstone, and Walthamstow. We are based in E17, so this is our home territory.
How far in advance should I book a removal company?+
Two to four weeks is ideal. We can sometimes do short-notice moves for East London customers since we work this area every day. Call 0207 118 7778 and ask.
Do I need a parking permit for my move in East London?+
Most East London streets need a parking suspension from your local council. We help you work out what is needed and tell you which council to contact. Search for “parking suspension” on your council website. Cost varies by borough. Apply at least a week before your move.
Can you handle a move from a tower block or flat with a lift?+
Yes. The towers around Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs, and Stratford are common jobs for us. We book the goods lift and service bay through building management before moving day. We also handle period conversions and ex-council estates with tight corridors and no lift.
Are you insured?+
Every move includes Goods in Transit insurance up to £25,000 as standard. Across 10,000+ moves, we have filed only 3 claims.
Do you offer storage in East London?+
Yes. Container storage at £30/week (inc VAT) from our facility. First week is FREE with any removal booking. We collect from any East London address. See our storage in London page for full details.
Can I pack my own things?+
Absolutely. We also offer professional packing if you prefer. Full house or fragile-only. We deliver boxes, tape, and packing materials to your East London home. See packing service London for details.
Do you dismantle furniture?+
Basic dismantling of beds, wardrobes, and tables is included. For complex items with integrated lighting or bespoke shelving, we factor extra time into the quote.
How do I get a quote for my East London move?+
Call 0207 118 7778 or fill in the online form. Free survey, fixed-price quote within 12 to 36 hours, no obligation.
Does the Congestion Charge or ULEZ affect my move?+
ULEZ covers all of Greater London, and our vehicles are compliant. The Congestion Charge zone covers parts of inner E1 near the City border. If your move starts or ends there, we factor it into the quote. Ask us if you are unsure.
Do you move from East London to other parts of London?+
Yes. We move from East London to anywhere in London and the Home Counties. The Central line, A12, and A13 give us quick access into central London and out toward Essex. See our house removals London page for full coverage.
