What else affects the price
Distance. Local moves within London are straightforward. Longer distances add travel time and fuel.
Access. If you are on the 4th floor with no lift, or the van cannot park within 20 metres of the door, it takes longer. We account for this at the survey stage so there are no surprises.
Packing. Professional packing adds to the cost but saves you days of work. We can pack everything, just the fragile items, or nothing at all. Your choice.
Dismantling. Basic bed and wardrobe dismantling is included. Large or complex furniture (sliding-door wardrobes, bespoke shelving, specialist fittings) may need extra time which we factor into your quote.
How we price your move
We quote a base fixed price covering the hours we expect the job to take, based on what we saw at the survey, not a guess. If the job runs over, there is a transparent excess rate agreed upfront. You get a range: “6 to 8 hours” for a 3-bed, for example. The base covers the lower end, and you only pay the excess if the job genuinely takes longer.
This is fairer than a single fixed price that gets padded “just in case.” And it is more honest than a vague hourly rate that drifts upward with no ceiling. You know the minimum, you know the maximum, and you know what the extra hour costs if it happens.
How it works
Step 1. Get in touch

Step 2. The survey (this is the step that protects you)
We need to see what you actually have. Everyone underestimates. The loft, the shed, the cupboard under the stairs. A proper survey is what stops your quote from being a guess.You choose how. For a 1-bed flat, a phone call is often enough. For most moves, we do a video survey. One of our team guides you through your home on a video call. “Can you open the kitchen cupboards? Show me the loft? Is there a shed or garden storage?” It takes about 20 minutes and it is free.Prefer to do it yourself? Send us photos or a video walkthrough of your property by email or WhatsApp. Some people find this more comfortable than a live call.For 4-bedroom properties and above, we come in person. The only exception is when the property is very far. 75+ miles, in which case a thorough video survey does the job.
Step 3. Your fixed-price quote
Based on what we saw. You receive a clear breakdown within 12-36 hours of the survey. Valid for 28 days. No obligation.Choose the pricing model that works for you. A fixed price based on the survey. Step 4. Moving day
The team arrives. Everything gets blanket-wrapped and strapped. Beds and wardrobes are dismantled, loaded, then reassembled at the new place. During bad weather we use floor coverings in both properties. Boxes go to the rooms you labelled them for. You tell us where the big stuff goes and we put it there.Things do not always go to plan on moving day. And that is when the crew you hired matters. One customer’s new place was not ready when we arrived. The previous occupants were still moving out. The team waited three hours, no complaints, then moved everything in with the same care as if the day had gone perfectly. “Their job,” the customer wrote, “was to limit the stress at a difficult time. Furniture protection. Every item is wrapped in removal blankets and strapped in place. Floor coverings protect both properties.

What we move (and what we do not)
Standard moves. Furniture, appliances, boxes, clothes, books, kitchenware, televisions, garden equipment, gym equipment, tools. If it is in your home, we move it.
Specialist items. Pianos, antiques, large artwork, delicate lighting, bespoke furniture. We have the equipment and experience. Some moves need a bit more – we have taken sofas out through windows when they would not fit through doors, and lowered handcrafted furniture from balconies using straps. If it needs to move, we find a way.
What we cannot move. Hazardous materials (cans of paint, gas bottles, flammable chemicals), animals, cash and valuables (jewellery, watches, important documents – keep these with you). Firearms and ammunition – never. Perishable food and live plants can be moved from house to house but cannot go into storage and won’t be insured. If you are unsure about an item, ask us during the survey.

Yes. When you book a removal with us, your first week of container storage costs you nothing. No minimum spend. No hidden terms. Just mention it when you book. After the first week, storage is £30/week (inc VAT) per 250 cu ft/7 cu metres container, fully insured up to £25,000.
How much do house movers cost in London?+

The UK average for a 3-bedroom house move is £1,252. Our London pricing for a 3-bed is £800 to £1,250 with 4-5 movers over 6-9 hours. The exact price depends on access, parking, distance, and whether you need packing or storage. Our survey gives you an accurate fixed price based on your specific property, not an industry average.
What are red flags when choosing a removal company?+
Five things to watch for. One: they give you a price without looking at your home. That price will change. Two: they ask for full payment upfront. A deposit is normal; 100% before the job is not. Three: they cannot show you proof of Goods in Transit insurance. Four: no physical address on their website, just a mobile number. Five: their reviews mention extra charges added on moving day. If you see two or more of these, walk away.
What is the cheapest day to hire movers?+
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the cheapest days. Demand is lower. Friday and weekends cost more. The cheapest months are February, April, and May. August is the most expensive month (school holidays, everyone moves at once). If you have flexibility, a midweek move in spring will save you money.
What do house removals not take?+
Hazardous materials (cans of paint, gas bottles, petrol, chemicals), animals, cash, jewellery, important documents (passports, deeds, wills. Keep these with you). Firearms and ammunition are never transported. If you are unsure about something, mention it during the survey and we will tell you.
How far in advance should I book?+
2 to 4 weeks is ideal, especially for larger properties. Short-notice moves are sometimes possible. Call us on 0207 118 7778 and we will check availability. If you are moving at the end of the month or in August, book as early as you can. Those dates fill fast.
Do I need to be present on moving day?+
You do not have to be all the time, but most people prefer to be. Someone needs to let the team in at both ends and confirm where large items go. If you cannot be there, a family member or friend with a key works. For the loading, it helps to be around so you can answer questions about what goes and what stays. For the unloading, you definitely want to be there to direct where furniture lands.
What insurance cover do you provide?+
Goods in Transit insurance up to £25,000 is included as standard at no extra cost. You simply declare the value of your items during booking. Cover can be upgraded on request for an additional fee. Across more than 10,000 moves since 2010, we have filed exactly 3 claims. A 0.03% incident rate. Your belongings are safer with us than in your own van.

What is a fair tip for movers?+
Tipping is appreciated but never expected. In the UK, £5-10 per crew member for a half-day job or £10-20 each for a full day is common. Offering tea, coffee, and cold drinks throughout the day goes a long way – it is a physically demanding job and the crew will appreciate it. Cash is easiest, but a sincere thank-you and a good review matter just as much.
Can you move me at short notice?+
Sometimes. It depends on availability. Call us on 0207 118 7778 and we will tell you honestly whether we can fit you in. Short-notice moves work best for smaller properties. A 1 or 2-bed flat is more flexible than a 5-bed house with a full pack.
What happens if something gets damaged?+
Every item is insured under our Goods in Transit policy up to £25,000. In the extremely unlikely event something is damaged, across 10,000+ moves, we have had 3 claims. We handle it directly. You report it to us, we assess it, and your insurance covers the value. The 0.03% incident rate is not luck. It is blanket-wrapping every piece of furniture, strapping every load, and training the crew properly.
